How to keep a local backup

Use exports when you want a copy that is outside the app, readable without a cloud account, and practical to move elsewhere.

  1. Use the Linux desktop app for local SQLite storage when local control is the priority.
  2. Export individual notes as Markdown when you only need a small subset.
  3. Use Settings > Export & Backup for a full ZIP export of the workspace.
  4. Store exports somewhere independent of the app, such as a backup drive or your normal backup system.
  5. Repeat after major reorganisations, imports, or publishing work.
