Wikilinks & Links
Wikilinks are the primary way to connect notes in OikoNotes. By linking related ideas together, you build a personal knowledge graph that grows more valuable over time.
Syntax
To link to another note, wrap its title in double square brackets:
[[Note Title]]When you save the note, OikoNotes resolves the wikilink by searching for a note with a matching title (case-insensitive). Leading and trailing whitespace inside the brackets is trimmed.
Resolved vs Unresolved Links
- Resolved — When a matching note is found, the wikilink renders as a clickable link that navigates to the target note.
- Unresolved — When no matching note exists, the wikilink renders as styled text indicating it is unresolved. You can create the target note later, and the link will resolve automatically.
Backlinks
Every note tracks which other notes link to it. These backlinks appear in the editor sidebar under Related Notes. Backlinks help you discover connections you might not have noticed.
Related Notes by Tags
Beyond explicit wikilinks, OikoNotes finds notes that share tags with the current note. These appear alongside backlinks as related notes, helping you discover implicit connections.
AI Link Suggestions
When AI analyses a note, it can suggest wikilinks to existing notes based on content similarity. These appear as Link suggestions in the Process Queue or in the editor sidebar. You can apply or reject each suggestion.
The Knowledge Graph
All wikilinks are visualised in the Knowledge Graph, where notes appear as nodes and links appear as edges. This gives you a bird's-eye view of how your knowledge is connected.
